About the role

As the Head of Design you will lead and grow the design team and its practice as we scale. You’ll be tackling meaningful problems and shipping intuitive and impactful designs for our clinicians, clients, and partners. Surrounded by smart, ambitious and caring teammates that want to build great experiences together, you’ll have the opportunity to partner across all disciplines. From planning, project kickoff, to release, you’ll take part in the direction in what we build and how we build them.

In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with Product, Design, Engineering, and our Clinical partners to research, ideate, and produce thoughtful and effective user experiences. With people and feedback at the center of our team culture, you’ll join and run workshops to foster creativity and drive progress.

Where you'll make an impact

  • Craft visionary product concepts that fundamentally transform the mental health space by combining the best of design, clinical innovation, and technology
  • Improve clients’ experience throughout their care journey: seeking out therapist, receiving therapy and understanding progress
  • Reimagine how technology and great design can impact the way clinicians provide care
  • Help to grow and scale the design practice at a fast-growing healthcare startup

Required qualifications

  • Equipped with full-stack product design skills and mastery in several focus areas
  • Experience leading, mentoring and strategically managing design teams through company growth stage
  • Experience in shipping cross-device designs that show systematic design thinking
  • Background in driving organizational design, career development, operations and culture both within UX organizations and in partnership with technical teams
  • Experience collaborating with Product Managers, Engineers, Designers, and other cross-functional partners throughout the design process
  • Strong visual design point of view with attention to detail
  • Experience in methods, processes and best practices in user-centered design and research

Preferred qualifications

  • Extensive (10+ years) professional experience designing intuitive and scalable products for web and/or mobile
  • Bachelor's degree in Design, Human Computer Interaction, or equivalent practical experience
  • Experience in practicing user research methods to ensure the experiences we ship are valuable and meaningful to the end-users
  • Experience in building and contributing to a design system

Compensation & Benefits

The base compensation for this role is targeted between $223,000 and $250,000. Final offer amounts are based on several factors and may differ from the listed range.
