The Role

Nécessaire is looking for a Copywriter who can blend brand voice, business strategy, and cultural relevance to craft compelling content across every customer touchpoint. You’ll be responsible for developing persuasive, engaging, and insight-driven copy across digital marketing, brand storytelling, e-commerce, and more. Whether it’s writing a high-converting email subject line or shaping a brand campaign from scratch, you know how to tailor your tone, structure, and message to move people.

To succeed in this role, you’ll need to be curious, collaborative, and highly adaptable. You balance sharp creative instincts with a strategic mindset, and you’re comfortable working both independently and cross-functionally. You love the challenge of writing in a way that’s both brand-right and performance-oriented—and you’re always iterating, refining, and pushing for better.

This role reports to the Creative Director and will collaborate closely with the fellow creative leads, commercial and marketing teams to bring big ideas and everyday storytelling to life across paid, owned, and earned content.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Develop and Execute Brand Copy Across Channels

  • Write compelling, on-brand copy across a wide range of formats and touchpoints, including:
  • E-commerce: Product descriptions, landing pages, banners, and conversion copy for Amazon, Sephora, and the brand site
  • Paid media: Ad copy for paid social, paid search, affiliates, and programmatic
  • Email: Campaign and lifecycle copy across flows and promotions
  • Influencer/UGC/affiliate: Briefs, toolkits, and caption templates
  • Organic social: Captions, campaign messaging, and social-first storytelling
  • Translate marketing strategies and creative briefs into clear, compelling messaging that drives action.
  • Ensure voice consistency and brand integrity across all platforms, formats, and audience segments.
  • Balance creative craft with performance—writing for clarity, impact, and conversion while still delighting readers.

Support Brand Storytelling and Campaign Development

  • Contribute to the concepting and execution of brand campaigns, launches, and seasonal moments.
  • Help refine brand messaging frameworks, tone-of-voice guidelines, and narrative structures.
  • Collaborate with design partners to build integrated visuals and copy that work together seamlessly.

Collaborate Across Teams and Channels

  • Partner with growth, CRM, and e-commerce teams to optimize creative for channel objectives.
  • Work closely with product, content, and merchandising teams to ensure copy supports both brand and commercial goals.
  • Participate in brainstorms, reviews, and campaign planning across the creative and marketing org.
  • Edit and QA your work and others’ to ensure clarity, accuracy, and polish.
WHAT YOU BRING
  • 6–8+ years of copywriting experience, ideally in-house at a consumer brand or at a creative agency.
  • A portfolio that showcases strong conceptual thinking, storytelling ability, and digital-first writing across paid and owned channels.
  • Deep understanding of how to write for different platforms and objectives—from headlines to CTAs to long-form copy.
  • Experience adapting brand voice across formats and marketing stages while maintaining cohesion and consistency.
  • Skilled at giving and receiving feedback, managing multiple deadlines, and communicating clearly across teams.
  • Detail-oriented, highly organized, and proactive in your approach to project ownership.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment where writing is part creative, part strategic, and part executional.

Nice to Have

  • Experience writing for beauty, wellness, fashion, or other consumer lifestyle categories.
  • Familiarity with SEO, A/B testing, or performance-driven copy frameworks.
  • Exposure to working with creative tools (e.g., Figma, CMS platforms, project management systems).
  • Background in journalism, editorial, content strategy, or brand voice development is a plus.
