The Role

The SVP of Distribution is a key executive role responsible for building and scaling Lucky Energy’s distribution footprint across the U.S. and beyond. This leader will own our go-to-market distribution strategy, manage and grow relationships with DSD partners and wholesalers, and ensure Lucky Energy is flawlessly executed at retail. You will be accountable for driving availability, velocity, and market share by expanding and optimizing our distribution network.

This is a high-impact, hands-on role for a leader who can balance strategic vision with operational execution—building systems, coaching teams, and relentlessly pursuing growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Distribution Strategy & Expansion

    • Design and execute a national distribution roadmap to achieve aggressive growth targets.

    • Secure and onboard new DSD and wholesale partners in key territories.

    • Ensure Lucky Energy achieves best-in-class coverage across convenience, grocery, and specialty channels.

  • DSD & Partner Management

    • Build, manage, and expand relationships with top DSD houses nationwide.

    • Negotiate contracts, pricing structures, incentives, and performance metrics.

    • Drive distributor engagement through programs, blitzes, and consistent in-market presence.

  • Execution & Retail Performance

    • Partner with Sales and Enablement to ensure field execution excellence.

    • Align distributor efforts with retailer launches, promotional calendars, and market blitzes.

    • Monitor performance metrics (ACV, case volume, VPO, velocity) and hold partners accountable.

  • Leadership & Team Development

    • Lead and mentor Directors of Sales, Regional/District Managers, and distribution support staff.

    • Foster a culture of accountability, high performance, and collaboration across the sales org.

    • Partner with marketing, operations, and finance to align distribution with overall company goals.

  • Analytics & Optimization

    • Build reporting systems to track distributor performance and retail execution.

    • Use data to inform territory expansion, blitz planning, and partner selection.

    • Continually refine systems to maximize ROI and efficiency.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of experience in beverage/alcohol/CPG distribution leadership roles.

  • Deep network of DSD, wholesaler, and retailer relationships (national + regional).

  • Proven track record of scaling a challenger brand into national distribution.

  • Strong negotiation skills and experience structuring distributor agreements.

  • Ability to balance strategic vision with in-the-weeds operational execution.

  • Excellent leadership and communication skills; thrives in a high-growth, fast-moving environment.
