Job Description
The Opportunity:
We, at Flywire, are seeking a Senior Director of Finance to provide broad strategic and operational finance leadership for the APAC region, including Australia, Japan, China, Singapore, India, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Thailand and others. This individual will be results-oriented with experience leading culturally diverse teams in a high growth environment.
- Operate as a strategic business partner to the executive team.
- Assess, oversee and evaluate financial performance of the region with regard to long-term operational goals, budgets, forecasts, reporting and auditing.
- Oversee APAC finance and accounting operations, including Flymates in the region and resources supporting the APAC region from our shared service center.
- Lead APAC-based strategic initiatives, including new country expansion, finance and tax diligence, post-acquisition integration activities, etc.
- Develop and maintain internal control policies and procedures in support of Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) compliance, with emphasis on APAC operations and shared services.
- Support our Global / Central FP&A team on APAC financial planning and analysis activities, including forecasting and budgeting.
- Analysis of business performance, including creating insight into customer behavior and site performance, business and project performance, pricing opportunities, etc.
- Updating key financial models and creating new financial models from scratch – including but not limited to customer cohort models, pricing models, deal models, etc.
- Coordinate the overall planning process (in line with planning guideline / instructions) for the Region and its subsidiaries incl. required alignment between Region and Verticals.
- Oversee the financial close process for the APAC region and partner with FP&A on management reporting and profit improvement initiatives.
- Partner with other APAC leaders on key strategic and business initiatives
- Ensure regional compliance with local laws and regulations, including support for regulated entity status, statutory financial reporting, tax compliance and audits.
- Drive automation of key processes
- Oversight for regional cash management and intercompany settlement
- Manage relationships with auditors, tax authorities, bankers and other regional providers on local statutory and regulatory audits.
Qualifications
Here’s What We’re Looking For:
- Proven experience as senior finance executive in a comparable role at a public company within a high growth environment, preferably within the technology space
- Extensive international experience, including statutory audits, tax and compliance.
- Strong communication skills (written and oral); ability to communicate complex financial information effectively to non- financial stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of financial modeling, forecasting, and budgeting techniques. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- The ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Solid understanding of financial systems, including integrations and enhancements
- Thorough knowledge of accounting standards (US GAAP and IFRS)
- Experience with SOX
- MBA and/or accounting degree
