What You’ll Be Working On
We’re looking for a highly motivated hardware engineering contributor—ideal for senior-level students, new graduates, or recent alumni—to join our team for a full-time spring-to-summer engagement. This role begins as a contractor or co-op position with a strong possibility of full-time conversion based on performance and business needs.
You’ll work closely with our engineering leads to support hardware development cycles, perform testing, validate designs, and contribute to product improvements. This is an excellent opportunity for early-career engineers looking to build real-world experience while owning meaningful, visible projects.
Your day to day will be:
- Contribute to hardware schematic design, component selection, and board-level development.
- Assist with hardware testing, debug cycles, and performance validation.
- Execute test procedures, collect data, analyze results, and summarize findings for engineering reviews.
- Support revisions to schematics, documentation, and design artifacts as needed.
- Work cross-functionally with senior engineers to bring concepts from prototype to production.
- Take ownership of well-defined projects that may evolve as Andy refines scope and sequencing.
Qualifications
- Working knowledge of schematic design tools (e.g., Altium, KiCad, OrCAD, or similar).
- Experience with hardware testing, lab equipment, and troubleshooting methods.
- Ability to clearly document and communicate project work—including describing scope, technical challenges, results, and impact.
- Strong attention to detail and an eagerness to learn, iterate, and improve.
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Robotics, or a related field.
- Experience with PCB layout or board bring-up.
- Familiarity with embedded systems, firmware, or microcontroller integration.
- Prior co-op or internship experience in hardware-related roles.
Benefits
- $40.87/hour compensation
- Gain practical experience in engineering for both hardware and software
- Flexible scheduling around your potential needs outside of this role.
- Networking opportunities within the tech and coffee industries.
- High-performing teammates in this role may also have the opportunity to transition into full-time roles with BrewBird.
- Enjoy complimentary BrewBird coffee and merchandise.
