What You'll Be Working On
The Field Service Technician is a key team member within our support and customer-facing organizations. We are looking for an experienced professional who is technologically savvy and interested in contributing to a variety of activities on a given day. The main priority for this role is the service and installation of our coffee machines in the field. This role will support the growth of our business through customer interface by ensuring that coffee brewers at customer sites are setup and working properly. The technician will execute on preventative maintenance schedules and be deployed to customer locations for reactive maintenance issues. The technician will be the key party to ensure a quick response and accurate diagnosis to then remedy the issue and get the unit back up and running.
This role will be based between the company's office in San Carlos, warehouse in Belmont and various customer sites across the Bay Area. You must be comfortable and qualified to travel via vehicle (van provided by Brewbird) most days of the week.

You will be:

  • Running installation of coffee brewers at customer locations
  • Handling, assembling, operating and disassembling coffee machines during field operations, keeps up-to-date on all equipment maintenance and operational procedures to ensure safe, proper maintenance and use of equipment and satisfactory completion of the job
  • Providing technical assistance and support to troubleshoot, maintain, install and repair hardware, and diagnose software issues
  • Available to customer during business hours to give instructions and advice to users on how to resolve brewing issues
  • Using the computer to learn/work within the warehouse data system
  • Presenting great hospitality practices in customer-facing situations while abiding by all company safety and hygiene regulations
  • Able to deliver and service product with a clean driving record and active driver’s license

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience as a service technician, or other related technical work
  • Technical aptitude with machines and hardware; must have troubleshooting & repair experience
  • Experience interfacing with face to face with customers
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively with multiple teams and a variety of people both technical and non-technical
  • Basic shop tools experience, and experience with plumbing/pneumatic work a plus
  • Experience traveling regularly using large vehicles, and able to travel ~80% in any given week
  • Basic computer skills and can easily work your way around Microsoft Office Suite
