Job Summary

The Business Strategy Manager is part of the Business Strategy team, focusing on strategic projects for the office of the President and CEO. This role involves working cross-functionally with business unit executive leadership and senior business leaders on various dynamic projects to support the organization's long-term operational and growth goals. The Manager of Business Strategy drives the execution of strategic initiatives, creating an immediate and significant impact across the organization by leading key projects and overseeing the development, coordination, and implementation of strategic plans.


Essential Job Functions

  • Support the cross-functional coordination of establishing annual organization-wide goals and managing the complete communication process related to the Business Strategy. Accountable for quarterly goal progress tracking while ensuring proper rounds of feedback are incorporated throughout the approval process. Support the monthly Operating Committee meeting agenda and presentation materials.

  • Create and manage content for highly visible engagements such as board meetings, town halls, leadership meetings, and email newsletters/updates. Curate talking points and preparation materials for executives delivering strategic messages in an articulate and digestible manner by applying professional verbal and written communication skills.

  • Oversee, monitor, and sustain plans for multiple strategic projects, including but not limited to, board meetings, and tracking progress on business strategy and organization-wide goals. Determine proper communication tools to provide progress updates to Executive Leaders, summarize roadblocks/mitigation plans, and ensure progress and goals are met.

  • Develop, build, and manage annual communications plans for executive leadership, associates, and board in partnership with Corporate Communications. Draft and coordinate internal communications across multiple channels while translating complex business messages and capturing in the executive’s unique voice.

  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders in the coordination of executive leadership-initiated tasks and projects. Build and cultivate relationships at all levels internally including senior-level executives, peers, and the broader organizational team. Partner with business leaders to understand goals and progress against them.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, Communications or equivalent, relevant work experience

  • 8+ years relevant work experience in financial services, payments, technology, or marketing sectors with a focus on business transformation, business strategy, or office-of-the-CEO initiative support


Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, Communications or equivalent, relevant work experience

  • 8+ years experience working with C-level executives

Work Environment

  • Normal office environment, some travel may be required.

  • This position is hybrid with an onsite schedule of 3 - 4 days per month.

  • This position is currently available to candidates that reside within 60 miles of a Bread Financial location.

Typical Starting Range:

$108,300.00 - $196,300.00

Full Salary Range for position:

California: $124,600.00 - $245,400.00

Colorado: $108,300.00 - $206,100.00

New York: $119,200.00 - $245,400.00

Washington: $113,700.00 - $225,700.00

The actual base pay within this range may be dependent upon many factors, which may include, but are not limited to, work location, education, experience, and skills.

Bread Financial offers medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, and other voluntary benefits (including basic and optional life insurance, supplemental medical plans, and short and long-term disability) to eligible associates (regular full-time associates scheduled to work 30 hours per week or more) and their spouses/domestic partners, and child(ren) under the age of 26. New associate elected coverage begins on date of hire (with the exception of disability coverage which has a 6-month waiting period). Six weeks of 100% paid parental leave for eligible parents is available after a 180-day waiting period. Hired associates can immediately enroll in Bread Financial’s 401(k) plan.

All associates receive 11 paid holidays. Associates have discretion in managing their time away from work through the Flexible Time Off (FTO) program and may need to notify and receive approval from their manager prior to taking the time off. Associates (except those located in Illinois) receive 80 hours of Paid Sick and Safe Time (“PSST”) upon hire and at the beginning of each subsequent calendar year. Illinois associates receive 40 hours of Illinois PSST upon hire and at the beginning of each subsequent calendar year and 40 hours of Illinois Paid Leave upon hire and at the beginning of each subsequent calendar year. Illinois Paid Leave must be used before associates in Illinois will be approved to take FTO.

Hired associates will be able to elect the purchase company stock during offering periods in June and December. You will be eligible for an annual incentive bonus based on individual and company performance.
