Job Summary

The Financial Systems Management team supports and executes projects that maximize growth of the profitability of Bread Financial, specifically related to card holder term and other revenue driving initiatives. The Specialist, Technical Business Advocate serves as the advocate for technology and non-technology goals and objectives to be met within financial systems, while reporting on efforts, applying metrics for success and sharing of best practices across the entire enterprise. The Specialist acts as strategic stakeholder in business case process as it relates to creating financial justification and business opportunity as well as the single source of navigation through the IT organization for business groups being represented on projects.

Essential Job Functions

Project Management- Key contact, representative and SME for accounting and finance project process. Actively participate in enterprise wide projects and initiatives on behalf of the business group supported. The project involvement needs vary from awareness to active participation as a needed resource for successful project installation through initiation through go live training, and post project support as needed. Makes critical business decisions on behalf of the respective executive sponsor.

Strong communication & influencing- Drives or partners with business area to create, research and support business case justification for initiatives important to business area. Researches and creates value metrics, financials, vendor and other costs. Supports creation of CER. Drives process with Department SMEs to thoroughly diagnose issues to assist in preparing the business case. Comprehends and analyzes the “What” to assist in business case preparation. Drives efforts around scenario and root cause analysis, feasibility studies, executive summary and business goals. Collaborates with internal and external technological solutions to source efforts or create ideas that will drive innovative business solutions. Monitors and ensures that all goals and objectives are met after implementation of business case, and applies consistent set of value metrics to identify results, success and learning against objectives of business case. Drives education process to Executives and Senior Leadership Team on successful return on investment and projects with division wide business impact. On prioritized efforts collaborates with Business and Systems Analyst team to ensure business needs, rules and requirements and best solution is created through better Requirements. Utilizes knowledge of Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams to execute daily work.

Educate & consult- Actively engages in a thorough understanding and education of all areas of IT in order to be the primary source of IT functional knowledge. Acts as the primary strategic navigation source between the development partners and the Finance and accounting being. Applies solid Bread Financial business and operational knowledge to proactively address Department technology needs, and engages key contacts within IT for problem resolution. Key resource to drive initiatives through the business and development life cycle. Knowledge and understanding of financial cost justification and business case process. Understanding of retail industry and business levers that drive credit sales and manage expenses

Analytics- Utilize SQL tables and queries to identify opportunities for incremental account, division, and product level profitability. Complete quantitative analyses. Produce data driven results utilizing various problem-solving methods. Ability to find creative solutions within a data driven framework. Articulates a point of view and drive cross functional work and communications to achieve goals

Working Conditions/ Physical Requirements Normal office environment, some travel may be required.

This position is currently hybrid 3-4 days per month and could change due to business need. This position is currently available to candidates that reside within 60 miles of Columbus, OH; Chadds Ford, PA; Plano, TX, Draper, UT; Wilmington, DE; New York, NY; or Chicago, IL.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent education

Five or more years retail Credit/finance, specifically related to account terms and conditions

Preferred Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

Typical Starting Range:

$86,100.00 - $156,000.00

Full Salary Range for position:

California: $98,800.00 - $195,000.00

Colorado: $86,100.00 - $163,900.00

New York: $94,700.00 - $195,000.00

Washington: $90,400.00 - $179,100.00

The actual base pay within this range may be dependent upon many factors, which may include, but are not limited to, work location, education, experience, and skills.

Bread Financial offers medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, and other voluntary benefits (including basic and optional life insurance, supplemental medical plans, and short and long-term disability) to eligible associates (regular full-time associates scheduled to work 30 hours per week or more) and their spouses/domestic partners, and child(ren) under the age of 26. New associate elected coverage begins on date of hire (with the exception of disability coverage which has a 6-month waiting period). Six weeks of 100% paid parental leave for eligible parents is available after a 180-day waiting period. Hired associates can immediately enroll in Bread Financial’s 401(k) plan.

All associates receive 11 paid holidays. Associates have discretion in managing their time away from work through the Flexible Time Off (FTO) program and may need to notify and receive approval from their manager prior to taking the time off. Associates receive 80 hours of Paid Sick and Safety Time per calendar year at the beginning of each year and is prorated in the associate’s first year of employment.

Hired associates will be able to elect to purchase company stock during offering periods in June and December. You will be eligible for an annual incentive bonus based on individual and company performance.
