Today’s world can be intense and stressful, and it’s taking an unprecedented toll on kids, teens, and families. Bend Health’s collaborative care model relies on therapy to help families manage the ups and downs of everyday life. These challenges could involve managing emotions, challenging negative thinking, and reducing stress and anxiety.
We are looking for a full-time, licensed Clinical Director passionate about whole-person, whole-family mental health care to join our clinical team. This position reports to the Chief Clinical Officer.
What you’ll do:

A Clinical Director is responsible for ensuring that Bend’s Clinical Consultants, Clinical Therapists and Coaches are well-equipped to provide quality clinical care to our members using Bend Core programs. In this role, you will be considered a clinical expert operating at the top of your license and leading by demonstrating a strong commitment to Bend's organizational values, mission, and objectives. Your alignment sets the tone for the team, fostering unity and shared purpose toward achieving Bend's quality goals.
Responsibilities
Recruitment, Onboarding, Engagement and Training:
- Involvement in recruiting new therapists by identifying qualified candidates and participating in the interview process.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive environment where all therapists, 1099 and W2, are engaged, valued, and supported regardless of employment status.
- Reinforce processes that familiarize new therapists with Bend core programs, company standards, and expectations.
- Assist in training and onboarding for new and existing therapists.
- Ensure that Therapists truly understand Bend Core programs, evidence-based protocols, and industry best practices, enhancing their ability to provide quality care.
- Develop strong relationships with therapists by actively listening to their feedback, addressing their concerns, and advocating for their needs within the organization.
Leadership and Support:
- Lead by demonstrating a strong commitment to Bend's organizational values, mission, and objectives. Your alignment sets the tone for the team, fostering unity and shared purpose toward achieving Bend's goals.
- Provide ongoing leadership and support to therapists through check-ins, async, and one-on-one sessions.
- Offer guidance and resources to help them address challenges and improve their performance.
- Foster a positive and supportive work environment where therapists feel valued and appreciated.
Quality Assurance of Therapist Caseload:
- Assist in monitoring and evaluating therapists' performance to ensure they meet Bend’s standards of excellence and deliver high-quality care.
- This may include auditing records, reviewing case notes, providing guidance on complex cases, and offering feedback or supervision sessions.
- Provide feedback and support to therapists struggling or needing additional training.
Clinical Case Consulting of Coaches:
- Provide clinical case consulting and supervision to coaches to ensure they are effectively supporting our members.
- This may include auditing records, reviewing case notes, providing guidance on complex cases, and offering supervision sessions.
Continuous Improvement:
- Regularly gather therapist feedback to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to enhance care delivery.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest research and trends in behavioral health to ensure Bend remains at the forefront of industry best practices.
- Opportunities to be involved in the development of new care programs, resources, and clinical enhancements to best support the clinical team.
Therapy:
- Lead by example by carrying a small active caseload of members and providing high-quality therapeutic interventions.
- Demonstrate best practices and quality in the care you deliver.
- Provide input and feedback regarding our current care programs and suggestions to enhance and improve our existing services and care programs.
Other duties may be assigned, and the job description is subject to change based on organizational needs.
Who you are:
- Practicing at the top of your license - Example: LCSW or PhD
- Pediatric experience
- Virtual startup experience preferred
- Director level experience preferred
- 2-5 years experience supervising independently licensed clinicians
- Flexibility to cover Pacific Time hours until 8pm PT
- Ability to work 1 Saturday shift a month
- Tech-savvy with experience practicing in telehealth setting strongly preferred
- Passionate about helping kids and teens achieve goals
- Willing to “roll up your sleeves” and contribute cross-functionally as we scale
- Can work independently and come prepared with solutions
- Prefer telehealth experience
The salary range for United States residents is $100,000-$130,000 + Bonus. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, Bend Health offers a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity, and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
