We’re a collaborative, high-quality team of dog-lovers that solves problems with thoughtfulness, empathy, and speed. We move with high velocity, collaborate closely, and deliver results faster than anyone in the market. We want your time at Barkbus to be the greatest time of your career. If you’re ready to build the future of pet care with high standards and speed, come on board. We need exceptional people to help us build something new in the world.

About This Role

We’re looking for a hands-on Senior Manager, Product to lead the execution of our product roadmap across our engineering, design, and business teams. This role is delivery-focused: you’ll write technically sound tickets, plan and run agile sprints, and consistently ship features that drive measurable business outcomes.

You’ll be responsible for translating complex problems into clear solutions and ensuring our fully custom React + TypeScript platform evolves to meet the needs of our clients and internal teams. Success in this role requires strong technical fluency, excellent communication skills, and a bias toward action.

Role & Responsibilities

Define and Write Clear, Actionable tickets

  • Craft technically precise product tickets in JIRA that enable engineers to build efficiently, reduce ambiguity, and maintain high code quality standards.

Own Agile Delivery

  • Plan, run, and continuously improve sprint cycles to ensure teams deliver committed work on time and with predictable velocity.

Drive Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner directly with engineers, designers, and business stakeholders to turn customer needs and operational challenges into shipped features that create measurable value.

Break Down and Prioritize Work

  • Decompose complex problems into management tasks, set clear priorities, and maintain a transparent backlog tied to business objectives.

Maintain Project Visibility

  • Keep Jira boards clean and up to date, and proactively communicate progress, risks, and dependencies to stakeholders across the company.

Monitor Timelines and Remove Blockers

  • Monitor delivery milestones, identify potential obstacles early, and drive resolution to keep projects moving forward.

Translate Ambiguity into Solutions

  • Take loosely defined ideas or pain points and shape them into productized solutions that improve client experience and internal workflows.

Deliver Impactful Product Enhancements

  • Consistently ship product improvements that increase booking conversion, improve operational efficiency, and strengthen the scalability of our platform.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 5+ years in product management or similar technical product owner roles.

  • Strong familiarity with modern software development practices (agile, CI/CD, Git, etc.).

  • Hands-on experience delivering custom-built applications (not just CMS or third-party tools).

  • Comfortable communicating with engineers about technical architecture, particularly React and TypeScript.

  • Proven ability to manage stakeholders at all levels and drive alignment across functions.

  • Clear, concise communicator with structured thinking and a track record of strong execution.

Bonus Experience

  • Experience building internal tools or platforms that support dispatch, scheduling, logistics, or field operations in mobile service businesses.

  • Startup experience or a track record of thriving in environments where you wear many hats

  • Familiarity with AI-powered workflows, automation, or internal tooling to improve operational efficiency.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive Base Salary: $140K-$160K, based on experience

  • Stock options upon required tenure

  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance

  • Retirement Savings Plan to support your future

  • Pet Insurance to keep your furry friends healthy

  • Monthly cell phone stipend to stay connected

  • ClassPass membership to support your fitness and wellness goals
