Where We Need Help

The District Leader will be responsible for 7-10 stores in a market area to maximize the financial output of their assigned district through the optimization of talent, while ensuring the highest levels of operational execution resulting in a rewarding customer experience. This position will develop a high functioning store management team to ensure organizational capacity that meets or exceeds current and future business goals. This position will maintain team relationships with peers across the fleet, as well as other Corporate business partners, and will create a sales culture to drive profitability through analysis of business, trends, and the impact on customers, associates and store operations. The ideal candidate is based in the Eastern Time Zone.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Analyze business trends and create plans to increase sales, while controlling expenses to help drive overall profitability within your district
  • Collaborate with business partners for solutions
  • Acquire high quality talent
  • Manage performance, develop talent, and plan for succession, securing retention of high performers and top talent across the organization, especially focusing on managing effectively staff turnover
  • Ensure consistent application of performance management practices including but not limited to: annual performance appraisals, progressive counseling activities & development plans
  • Champion organizational initiatives and align team with vision and purpose
  • Validate execution of standard operating procedures
  • Is a subject matter expert in all operational processes and procedures
  • Implement brand initiatives to achieve world-class service across stores
  • Promote a clear understanding of the expectations for the customer experience
  • Foster a culture of exceptional selling and service where associates are empowered to create positive, lasting impressions that make our stores a destination
  • Maintain neat, clean, and organized stores
  • Ensure teams reflect the diversity of their communities
  • Ensure all escalated customer service issues are resolved in a timely and positive manner

More practical skills needed:

  • BA/BS preferred but not required
  • 8+ years of management experience in a highly complex, multi-unit retail business environment
  • Expert in Microsoft Office and Google Drive, advanced Excel skills a plus
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite a plus
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills and the ability to influence business partners at all levels
  • Strong problem-solving skills; ability to resolve technical, operational and organizational problems and drive decisions that impact finances, efficiency and effectiveness of the stores
  • Understands Point of Sales (POS) system, and various software packages
  • Proven ability to meet current and future business goals through continuous identification and development of store management talent
  • Skilled at building and leveraging relationships with peers, corporate partners and the business community to positively impact business decisions
  • Proven ability to adapt quickly to ambiguity and allocate time to execute multiple tasks & changing priorities

Work Environment

Work takes place in a retail store setting. Availability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business; will require weekends, evenings and holidays. Regular travel by car, plane, train is required to stores within your district, and may require overnight travel to support the needs of the business. It requires the ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods of time and communicate effectively with a diverse audience in person, by phone and by computer. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift, push, and carry up to 20 lbs frequently and up to 30 lbs occasionally. Travel required by air or car up to 70% of the time.

What do we offer?

The pay range for this role is: $115,000 - $120,000, depending on location and experience.

Allbirds routinely evaluates pay rates, and the ranges are subject to change based on market rates and other considerations. We factor in a number of components when determining starting pay, including the job and level you are hired into, location, skillset, experience and peer compensation.
